Testimonials

We had a great experience with Bill working on our timber project. He came highly recommended and exceeded our expectations. He met with my husband and I several times over the course of a year or more to get to know us, our project, our goals, our land, and the unique relationship between our property and the Western Pennsylvania Conservancy. Bill helped us to navigate the process and maximize the value of our timber, all while respecting the goals and responsibilities involved with our conservation easement. We highly recommend him to anyone looking for a professional forester!

I first met Bill in early in 2019 when I decided to sell the timber from the family farm.  I interviewed a half dozen foresters to help me market and manage the project.  Once I met Bill, I was certain he was the correct choice because he exemplifies professionalism from the moment you first meet him.

I live in VA and the farm is in Ligonier.  It was very important to me to have someone that I could trust to help me find a quality timber company, get a good price, and perform frequent inspections to keep the project on track.  Not only does he understand the nuances of the timber market, he is connected to timber companies of varying sizes.

Bill and I walked the timber site a few times and he was very candid in the value of my standing timber.  He also educated me on surveyor marks and the history of different trees within the forest and which trees were native to Penns Woods.  I find that kind of thing interesting.

Long story short, I felt comfortable trusting Bill to handle everything which he did perfectly.  The cut went as expected and was on time.  Afterwards, the reclamation was well done and actually provided a more usable road through the woods!  In all fairness, the success of the project also rests with Eutsey Lumber, Inc.  They deserve a shout out too!

In summary, I never had to worry because Bill handled it all from start to finish.  I would highly recommend Bill for any forestry work or advice you may need.

Bill is a professional is every aspect of his profession. He understands the market and was able to get a great price for my timber. He is knowledgeable and explains everything to you so you have a complete understanding of the project. He responds to questions immediately and always does what he said he was going to do. I live in Fla. and the Timber was being done in Pa. I trusted Bill to handle everything and he did an excellent job. I never had to worry because Bill was on the job. Thanks again Bill for all your hard work. I would highly recommend Bill personally and professionally.

I have known Bill for nearly thirty years and have found him to be a very knowledgeable and conscientious professional forester. In my capacity as Assistant District Manager/Technical Programs Director for the Westmoreland Conservation District, I have found Bill to always make environmental considerations such as erosion control best management practices and protecton of water quality a high priority on his timber sales. I would consider him to be an excellent choice to anyone looking for a Professional Consulting Forester.

Bill Bleckley has done a professional job of looking after our interests in all aspects of our timber sales. His services are an integral part of our timber management program.. He definitely pays for himself. We could not do the job without him.

I engaged Mr. Bleckley in his forestry capacity back in 2002. He was on top of the list I got from calling state agencies when searching for a reputable forester. He did everything he said he would and got me more than I had expected to get for the trees, but most importantly he did this: He gave me insight and understanding throughout the whole procedure. He always returned my phone calls and gave me more time than anyone would have expected to get. Even after all was said and done I called him periodically concerning property issues. He always made me feel welcome when calling and always took the time to assist me by freely extending his insight and understanding to me. We had some lengthy conversation some five or six times after the logging was history. So, I can say that I came to trust him over the years and appreciate that he really enjoys helping people. In the times we are living in, I can count on one hand persons I’ve done business with who I can say I trust. To be sure, I do recommend his work, his company. I am glad for any opportunity to “return the favor” by giving my time freely to answer any questions one might have about his handling of our tree sale. However, I will make this one comment: I can only reason he got a high price for our trees because tree buyers trust his evaluation of what they are bidding on.

Bill Bleckley is the BEST forester in Pennsylvania! He came highly recommended to me — for good reason. Bill researches the timber market daily and knows his stuff. When I decided to harvest timber on my property, Bill advised me to wait. The market was down for my particular wood. Three months later, when demand rose substantially, he advised me to sell. Not only that, but he marked each tree and selectively timbered. As a result, my property looks better and I got more than fair price for my timber. Bill stayed up on the market, he stayed on top of the timbering process and clean up. Algrow’s fee schedule is negligible compared to the level of service, satisfaction, professionalism, and profit I received. I would not ever use anyone other than Bill Bleckley.

I would like to share the history that the Wilcox and Barrys have had with Bill.  Our property is comprised of 465 acres of hardwood varieties.  Bill, as a young forester, took on the job of assessing what would be a good plan for the property using whatever the current best practices were back in the 80’s.  My father in-law was a very precise man and he became quite pleased with Bill’s planning and attention to detail.
Our property could be used as a Harvard case study or whatever the equivalent would be for Forestry. Over a 30-year period Bill has overseen a series of selection-cut loggings and our little forest is a treat to walk through.
His knowledge, professionalism, and honesty allows me to highly recommend Bill to anyone that wants the job to be done correctly without any worry for the property owner.
